Les fantômes d’Orsay

There was one particularly awesome exhibition. Called «Les fantômes d’Orsay» (“The Ghosts of Orsay”), it’s a collection of photographs taken by Sophie Calle in 1978, when she trespassed in the abandoned Orsay train station over the span of several months. She also picked up a lot of random junk — no rhyme or reason, anything that caught her eye. Train timetables, tickets, menus, work notes, that sort of thing. It’s a haunting look at a world of ruined glory, waiting to be born anew.
