Ruined bridge

In 1996 a massive flash flood from the Vatnajökull glacier destroyed the nearby Skeiðará Bridge. These twisted girders are all that remain, and are kept by the Ring Road near the new bridge as a reminder that Nature is a Mother. I mean, Icelanders already know that. But it bears repeating.
