Vineyard

Then we took the “Montmartrain”, a little train dealie going around Montmartre. Did you know there’s a vineyard here?

Le Clos Montmartre, as it’s called, is much newer than you might think, though! Vines have been grown around here for at least a thousand years but from what I’ve read, this vineyard only dates to 1933 when the City of Paris purchased the lot to head off rapacious real estate developers. People immediately loved the new green space even before it started producing wine. Sadly, it’s currently not open to the public.
