The goofiest heron

And an interdimensional grebe

A fairly short outing with so-so light, we first revisit a nice little spot in Surrey.

Serpentine Fen

A view of Serpentine River from near the parking lot. It curves away from us, there are dry yellow reeds on the opposite shore, and the water is smooth, reflecting the wispy clouds and soft blue sky
Snaking away

Dapper and alert

Harrying away

Not as spectacular as my pooping heron shot, but I might make a series out of this!

Bombing the enemy

A cute little woolly bear on the trail. And hey, I can actually see its head

It’s on the left

A not-that great photo of an immature Bald Eagle. Well, I’m shooting into a cloudy sky, so what can you do?

Two conjoined crows? I just like this silhouette

Together yet apart

And here’s the titular goofy heron, an immature weirdo who decided to try to stare me down. Joke’s on him, I’m into that stuff.

Look into my eyes

We spied this cute little Pied-billed Grebe, until it… disappeared. I mean at one point it dove, as they do, and it just didn’t seem to come back up. I swear we just lost track of it. Or maybe there’s a wormhole in the pond and it went back to its home dimension. Either / or.

Looking less goofy now!

Who’s calling me goofy?

G’night everyone.
