Northern Flicker intergrade

A handsome male Northern Flicker… and what’s very cool, he’s an intergrade. The red throat stripes and overall colour scheme tell me he’s mostly of the red-shafted subspecies most common west of the Rockies, but the very visible red line on the back of his head say he’s got some yellow-shafted genes in him!
