Ruby-crowned kinglet

Attracted by its buzzy little chirps, I found this ruby-crowned kinglet flitting hither and yon over a tree. Let me tell you, these teeny little birbs (even smaller than chickadees, more energetic, and better camouflaged) are not easy to photograph! You gotta be patient and accept you’ll get 100 terrible photos for each okay one.

I’ve never seen their namesake red crests, and that makes me sad.
