Bárður Snæfellsás

We stopped for lunch just outside the little town of Arnarstapi, and this guy was outside: Bárður Snæfellsás, the semi-mythical 9th–10th century settler of this region who (so the story goes) still watches over it. The statue looks ancient but was designed by Ragnar Kjartansson in 1972.
