Jan Hus was a 14th — 15th century theologian and Church reformer (the movement he founded is considered a key predecessor to Protestantism), executed by Church authorities. This monument was put up in 1915, on the 500th anniversary of his burning at the stake. It includes various Hussite warriors, and a young mother symbolising national rebirth.
