Boundary Bay Dike Trail
It’s been a while since I’ve been to Boundary Bay!
I set out on this Easter Sunday hunting for more Mountain Bluebirds. The rare bird alert site had mentioned something about an electric fence… which in hindsight should have told me it was at that BCHydro installation where all the starlings like to hang out. Which, in further hindsight, is past the big house with the ponds, past the raptor tree, so I should have started from 72nd Street, and not Beach Grove Park.
Also I probably shouldn’t have procrastinated so much that I arrived when the sun started to go down.
In the end, I didn’t see any bluebirds. I knew my chances weren’t high, since the rare bird alert had only reported them to April 3rd, but it seemed worth a shot. Anyway, it was a nice stroll and I got to capture some great scenery and some nice little birbs, including a few fairly special ones!
